I got to see Madonna!

With her children coming to Indianapolis on Friday, Madonna had a press conference on Thursday. It was the second-most attended press conference in the run up to the Super Bowl.

The singer is set to perform in the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday. Over the course of her career, she has sold more than 300 million records. She has also produced and directed movies.

As soon as she came out, Madonna started posing for the cameras. There were so many cameras clicking away that it sounded like a huge flock of birds. The 800 seats in the room were full, and about half that many people were standing. At least 50 TV cameras and one live radio station were set up.

Usually at the halftime press conference there are chairs onstage. But this time, there was only a podium. Madonna didn’t sing. She just answered questions. One person asked if there would be a “costume malfunction” during halftime. She said that there would not be one and everyone laughed.

I sat in the second row, less than 15 feet away from Madonna. (The first row was reserved.) It made me even more excited about her performing the halftime show. The songs that she will be singing are still a big secret. But she did let out that she would sing three old favorites and one new song.

“I want people to be knocked out of their seats from beginning to end,” Madonna said.

Weekly Reader

Catherine--Here I am reading Weekly Reader at age 82. I remember it fondly. If I could express myself as well as you my educational experience would have been much easier.

Thank you from Weekly Reader!

Hi, Bob. Thank you for your nice comment! We're so glad you're still reading Weekly Reader!
