SPEAK OUT

Thanks for sending your letters!

You had many good ideas for helping Buddy solve his problem. Remember this letter?

Dear Girls and Boys,

Jim is sleeping over. We are looking for bats. Jim thinks he saw one. Now Jim wants to go outside. What should I do?

Love,
Buddy

Dear Buddy,

We think that you should ask the parents if it is okay to go outside. If the parents say no then you should find something else to do. If they say yes, then you should grab a flashlight and be very careful.

Sincerely,
Mr. Toliver's 1st Grade Class

Dear Buddy,

I would not go outside to look for the bat because it might bite you. When it is night, lock the doors and stay inside where it is safe.

Dear Buddy,

He can't go outside because that bat may be a bad bat. You should tell Jim that it's not ok to go outside because it could be dangerous. You should tell him that he can look up pictures of bats online. You should know Buddy that bats can live in the dark.

Love,
Moses

Dear Buddy,

You should tell Jim that it is not a good idea to go outside with the bats. Bats sometimes can carry bad diseases. You should never go around animals that you do not know. Tell Jim that it would be fun to stay inside your room and continue looking out the window for more bats.

Your friends,
Mrs. Conley’s 1st Grade Class

Dear Buddy,

Here are our ideas on what we think you should do.

1. Always have a flashlight when you go outside and it's dark.
2. You and Jim could go outside to look for the bats.
3. Be careful if you go outside.
4. Ask your parents or a trusted adult before you go outside.
5. Stay inside and play.

We hope this helps!

From,
Ms. Pulliam's 1st Grade Class
