- A poem comprised of haiku by Dontya Chambers, Grade 8

In the afternoon
Macy laughs with her friends by
A pond in the park

Through all of the trees
She spots out a handsome boy
By the blue seesaw

As the wind flows by
She fixes her eyes on him
For a few seconds

Macy and her friends
Walk to the boy with his friends
Standing in the dirt

In the twilight, they
Walk together hand in hand
To a big, oak tree

As the evening ends
They embrace one another
Under the oak tree

It's a very good poem. And a cool way to write it. It never really occured to me to write a whole poem using Haikus for each verse. I thought you could only write them alone. Silly of me... because there are very few rules on poetry.
