If you are a frequent visitor to our bloggy, please stand by. We are in the process of switching over to a new venue and are experimenting with new softwares. It is because of this that you are not seeing many posts lately. Hopefully, once we switch to something else, we'll be on fire. ... not actually fire, mind you, that is just silly.

Wow what an amazing fire.Is that what i think it is a bonfire. How cool. I remember at my old school ,my whole class teamed up in order to raise as much money for charity as possible. Bonfire night was coming up and therefore we decided to use that as our spectacular theme. THE WHOLE CLASS OF 24 CHILDREN got together and built dummies with all the spare clothes we could find. WE then showed these dummies to parents of the children at school. IF THE PARENTS THOUGHT that the dummies were impressive enough they would donate some money for our charity. NOw there were some parents who werent as nice as others and played the" I FORGOT MY WALLET " trick on us or " I'M IN A RUSH TO COLLECT MY CHILDl, ill DONATE SOME MONEY ON THE WAY BACK" of course they never did come back. Anyway we raised a great amount of money for charity and that is the main part. Afterwards on bonfire night we set up a bonfire and one by one we placed our dummies in the fire and watched them burn. IT was exciting but also very sad as we watched all of our hard work slowly blacken and crumble to pieces. Overall it was very fun and we raise a lot of money for a very worthy cause.

Wow, Narina, that's amazing. And for school? I'm pretty sure none of my teachers would let us do that.

The fire dummy reminds me of the popular taunt, "Liar, liar, pants on fire, hanging from a telephone wire!" He does look like he's hanging on a telephone wire, doesn't he? I can see how they made the dummy. They took flammable objects and formed them to make a man, then lit the man (now, as I see, made from metal wire) on fire. That must have been fun.

But I'm very sad that you're moving to another site! I hope it is faster and that you have a better experience with it.

Dear Addy, et all,

Yes, we will be moving to a new site but we aren't sure when. It's nice to see a few comments still coming in here. Sorry we don't have a whole lot of new posts up. Will try to keep you updated as often as possible about our progress.

However, I can tell you that whatever the new URL is, you will most likely still be able to use www.readandwriting.com and that will re-route you to the new site.

Again though, this is a work in progress.

Thanks so much for your patience!

Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for all of your supportive comments on my description of our Bonfire night. Also, Addy, i am sure that if you recommend this idea to your teachers then there is a good chance that they will let you and your class have a go. I know that i along with ,many others, had a lot of fun that day and we also learnt a lot about Bonfire Night and the meaning behind this event. So, i think that you should tell you teachers about it and if you explain to them that really if the bonfire is done a controlled environment, it is actually quite safe. It is worth a try.

Good Luck!
Thanks for all the feedback,
Yours sincerely, Narina
