FIREPoem by Lydia Warters, Grade 8
I am the fireCrackling heat burning stronglyAs I take in paper I am the heatWarmingThe house of MysteryFor I am the fire
I feel sorry As I eat up booksBurning the amazing world of a storyI will take away its magic wordsPage by pageA book never read againI am sorry for I am the fire
I see the words In the pages of a bookMelting awayA path of black smokeTrails silently behind meTwo girls stand deep in thoughtThey speak no wordsI burn onFor I am the fireI hear the crackling popOf myselfAs I burn onThe silent noiseOf a page turningIn the last book remainingI hear for I am the fire
I wish the bestFor the house In whichI once so strongly burnedI will soon be goneSoI hope for the bestFor everyoneI wish this for I was the fire
Remember Me
