Hello November and welcome to National Novel Writing Month. Anyone interested? Go to www.nanowrimo.org to sign up to participate. 50,000 words in 30 days. No problem. Right?
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha... well, it should be interesting to try anyway.
This is how I have begun to try--last night, I fell asleep on my futon watching the news at 10. Then I woke up in time to fall asleep watching the news at 11. Then I woke up in time to fall asleep to Letterman's opening monologue. Then I woke up at 11:58 and shuffled over to my computer. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and opened up a fresh WORD document. As soon as Halloween was gone and November began, I was writing. What I wrote wasn't necessarily very good but they say it's all about "quantity, not quality" at NaNoWriMo. It seems like a backwards way of thinking when you're writing, but look at it this way--there's always December for editing.
Also, get your class involved, check out the Young Writers Program and tell your teacher all about it! But do it quick because November is whittling away as we speak! According to the NaNoWriMo countdown there is only 29 days, 11 hours, 14 minutes, and 34 seconds left! 33, 32, 21 .... ACK!
