Which Sport is Toughest on Doping?

Read the steroid policies for professional baseball, football, and basketball. Using the sections on discipline (baseball, section 8b; football, section 6; basketball, section 9c), create a diagram comparing the punishments for players in each sport who test positive for steroids a first, second, third, and, if they can get away with it, fourth time.

• Learn about the impact of steroids on teenagers' health.
• Read the government's tips for teens about steroids.
• Watch a video on the health effects of steroids and what the U.S. government, sports, schools, and communities are doing about performance enhancing drugs.
• Teachers: Download the White House "Coach's Playbook Against Drugs" for ideas on how you can coach your students to avoid steroids.

Second Amendment Shootout

• Most U.S. states have laws or provisions in their constitutions that echo the Second Amendment’s right to bear arms. Read the state versions. Look for differences in what each state emphasizes — a well-regulated militia, or the right of the people to bear arms, for example. Do you spot any regional trends?
