Issue 7 News Updates
The White House announced on Oct. 22 that President George W. Bush would host a meeting on the global financial crisis with the leaders of the European Union and 19 industrialized and developing countries. The meeting will be held in the Washington, D.C., area on Nov. 15. That first summit will focus on the immediate financial problems. French President Nicolas Sarkozy says follow-up summits will address “rebuilding the international financial system and making sure the current crisis does not happen again.”
