Rhyming
I know lots of words that rhyme.
I like to say them all the time;
Wish and fish, mat and sat,
Nose and toes, cat and hat.
Would you like to play my game
And give me words that sound the same?
- Dave Heckerling
Don’t Litter
Don’t litter the park.
Don’t litter the street.
Don’t be a litterbug!
Keep the yard neat.
Put trash in a can.
Close the lid tight.
Don’t be a litterbug!
Litter’s a sight!

Little Snake’s Skin
The little snake was itchy.
His skin was way too tight.
He scratched and scratched and grumbled,
“I will never sleep tonight!”
Then suddenly while scratching,
His frown became a grin,
The little snake remembered
It was time to shed his skin!

Water
It’s fun to play with water
Pour it from a cup
Splash it all around
Or try to pick it up.
Water can be hot or cold
Or just feel warm and nice.
And when it’s very, very cold,
Water turns to ice.
- Sharon Siegelman
The Playground
The playground is the place we play
When all our work is done / At school to have some fun
We follow all the safety rules
And never break a one.

No Fish, Go Fish!
A whale is a mammal
That lives in the sea,
A whale has to breathe
Like you and like me,
And if we went fishing
For something to cook,
I would not want to catch
A whale on my hook!
- Pauline C. Peck
