READ Magazine loves, you guessed it,  reading! This issue is a celebration of reading, and the infleunce of literature in our lives. Join us as we explore the joy of being lost in a book.

With our theme in mind, READ is happy to present our Center Stage play, The Neverending Story. David S. Craig adapts Michael Ende's famous story of Bastian, a boy whose love of reading pulls him literally into a fantasy novel.

Bryon Cahill introduces our theme in his essay " I Heart Reading."

Our LSI focuses on the rich details that draw readers in with an excerpt from Salman Rushdie 's novel  Haroun and the Sea of Stories

"Zoe in the Real World" by Audra Pace  is our feature short story. Zoe is an avid reader who gets left behind when her sister packs her bags to move out of the real world and into  the plot of a famous novel.

The READ crew truly loved putting together an issue after our own hearts. We hope you enjoy it too! If you have any comments, questions, concerns, or if you just want to say hello, you can write to us at read@weeklyreader.com. And don't forget to check out our literary blog, WORD, at www.readandwriting.com

Sincerely,
The Editors of READ Magazine
