This issue of ScienceSpin will introduce students to different species of penguins. Students will become more aware of the similarities and differences among penguin species.
Find photos of several different species of penguins. Here are links to some online photographs of a few species in Antarctica: Emperor, Adelie, Chinstrap, Gentoo, King.
Print out some images and encourage students to sort the penguin photos in different ways. You may wish to write the height or weight of the penguin species on the picture. Then students can arrange the penguins from smallest to largest.
