Try This:

Ice Experiment

Have students predict what will melt ice the fastest--salt, water, or both.

Take three pie pans of ice. Add salt to one pan, water to one, and both to the third.

Time how long it takes to melt the ice in each pan.

Write down the outcomes. Compare with prediction and discuss.
