Activities and Resources
• Have students research the formation and history of Palestine and Israel. As a class, discuss the origins and causes of conflict in the region. What is each side fighting for?
• Break students into groups to research key figures and players in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, such as Ehud Olmert, Ariel Sharon, Mahmoud Abbas, Fatah, and Hamas. Have students share their findings with the class.
• Have students research the latest developments in Gaza and write their own news updates.
• Have students write journal entries from the perspective of an Israeli or Palestinian teen. How does the conflict affect their daily lives?
