Cuba

Tell students that in negotiations between long-time rivals, each side usually has to give up something in order to obtain better relations. Ask: Between the United States and Cuba, what do you think the United States should give up? What do you think Cuba should give up?

Ask students plan a trip to Cuba. What sites would they take in? Have them create an itinerary using online travel sites such as Lonely Planet and Frommer's.

Do you think that the Obama administration wants Cuba to "act like a slave," as Fidel Castro suggests? Why would the 82-year-old Castro use such a word, especially since U.S. and Cuban officials are going ahead with meetings?
