Welcome to Current Health 1!
Dear Teachers,
Spring is finally here, and summer won’t be far behind. To that end, our April/May cover story looks at how walking can be fun, easy to do, and a great form of exercise, whether you’re walking to school, with a dog, or just taking a spin around the block.
Among the other stories in the issue are a piece called “All About Autism”; an article on the benefits of going TV-free for a week (Turnoff Week, observed annually nationwide, is April 21-27); a look at the benefits of sleep in “Turn Z’s Into A’s”; real-life tips and examples of teens fighting vandalism; and, finally, for those who are entering high school next year (or for those who aren’t quite there yet, but might be worried already), a story to ease their minds by answering common questions about what high school is like.

Don’t forget to check out our last installment in this year’s Get Up And Go program. One exercise is featured in the magazine, and more components of the workout are available online here at http://weeklyreader.com/teens/get_up_go/index.asp/. We are already working on ways to make our Get Up And Go initiative even more useful to you and your students next year, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, have a healthy, happy spring and summer—and see you next year!
