WELCOME! to Current Health 2's Web
extension for March 2008.

Depending on where you live, March this year is shaking its lion's mane or being uncharacteristically lamb-like. No matter what today's weather is, though, spring is just around the bend. (This year, the first day of spring is March 20.) With warmer weather come more opportunities to get outside and exercise.

That explains the timing of this issue's article "Move It!" Sure, teens can get aerobic exercise even in the dead of winter -- from kickboxing classes indoors to ice hockey at an outdoor rink. But spring brings new opportunities to take fitness to the streets, whether it's inline skating, a pickup basketball game, or laps in a pool. Students who aren't athletic can still find simple, enjoyable ways to get their hearts pumping. Our article gives the why -- the how is up to them!

Cordially,

Meredith Matthews
