Healthy Teeth
Did you brush your teeth today?
It’s the thing to do.
Clean teeth will stay healthy
And work better, too.
You will chew food easily,
Flash a shiny smile.
Showing off your healthy teeth
You’ll always be in style.
-Sharon Siegelman
The Lost Tooth
I lost a little tooth
Just the other night.
I lost it in an apple
When I went to take a bite.
I hope I get another tooth
To take the old tooth’s place,
Because my tongue feels funny
When it hits the empty space.

Abraham Lincoln
When Abraham Lincoln was a young boy
He helped to dig wells and cut trees.
He worked very hard with his family
To get ready for winter’s long freeze.
But Abraham Lincoln liked to read
And when he was done chopping wood,
He walked many miles to borrow some books
Then read and learned all that he could.
When Lincoln was grown, he became president
And wanted the slaves to be free.
He declared Civil War—then the North and the South
Came together as one big country.
-Deborah Garmon
George Washington
The story of George Washington
Tells of a cherry tree
That George cut down without a thought
And made his dad angry.
But when his father asked him,
George could not tell a lie.
He bravely stood before the man,
Saying, “Father, it was I.”
Although it’s just a story,
It helps us understand,
That our first president, Washington,
Was a brave and honest man.

Weather Changes
The weather changes,
So do I,
From cloud to sunburst,
From laugh to cry.
From warmth to coldness,
From low to high,
So do I.

Vegetable Stew
Vegetable stew,
What do we put
In a vegetable stew?
Potatoes, tomatoes,
And lots of peas too.
Foods that are yummy
And so good for you.
Vegetable stew.
Heat it up! Eat it up!
Vegetable stew!
