Nineteen–year–old Anna Popplewell has been acting since age 6, but she’s not that different from other girls her age. She enjoys normal teenage activities such as shopping and playing sports.

But Popplewell isn’t just any girl. She’s one of the stars of the new Chronicles of Narnia movies. In the first film in the series, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, she played the practical, responsible, and intelligent Susan Pevensie. She plays the same role in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, which premiers on May 16.

In the new movie, a year has passed for the four Pevensie children. But when they cross into Narnia, they learn that it’s been 1,300 Narnian years since their last visit. They are shocked to find that the once peaceful world is now controlled by the evil King Miraz. The children meet Prince Caspian, the heir to the Narnia throne, who is hiding due to threats from the king (his uncle). Will the Pevensie children help save Narnia again?

Popplewell was discovered by an agent when she was 8 years old. Her first professional role was playing Henrietta in the TV movie Frenchman's Creek when she was 10.

She was born December 16, 1988, in London, where she currently lives.
She is the oldest of three children. Her younger siblings, Freddie and Lulu, have also acted professionally.
She graduated last year from North London Collegiate School, an all-girls private school.
Popplewell went through 18 months of auditions and screen tests before she was cast as Susan.
She kept a journal while making The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe which was included in the book The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe Official Illustrated Movie Companion.
