Questions & Answers:
Emily Osment

1. Was it fun making Haunting Hour? What was it like? What was it like to work with Cody in the movie? Are you more like Lilly or your character in Haunting Hour?
Tony Ann, age 11

Emily Osment: I had a blast making the Haunting Hour. We spent 5 weeks in Pittsburgh in the heart of the fall, so it was really pretty. Cody and I had fun together everyday working on this movie and just hanging out. He is such a jokester and always made me laugh. He is still a really good friend of mine to this day.

There is always a little of an actor's personal life in every character we play. I wouldn't say I'm more like one that the other. I'd say that I discovered things that Lily and Cassie do that I do. I might be more like one than the other depending on the circumstances I happen to be in.

2. What was it like to sing in your new movie? Do you think you'll ever come out with an album?
Niki, age 10; Sara, age 14

Emily Osment: Singing in this movie was fun for me. I have been in a professional studio singing before, like on Billy Ray's album and in Holidaze, but this was still different, because it really felt like my song. I really enjoyed the process of putting it all together and making the music video, but someday I hope to do a full album with my own style of music.

3. How did you get your first acting job and what or who inspired you take that chance?
Shastane, age 14

Emily Osment: That’s a great question! My first acting job was an FTD Florist commercial when I was 5. I barely remember it but since that day I've worked my way up from commercials, guest roles on TV shows, and eventually movies and my regular job on Disney channel. I am really happy I took that first chance. My brother mostly inspired me because I always saw him rehearsing with my dad and going to auditions and it looked really fun and I asked if I could get into it as well.

4. How did you get the part in Hannah Montana?
Elly, age 9

Emily Osment: I had to go in and read for the casting agent twice. Then I read for the director and producers twice. Every time I went in the number of people in the room got bigger, it was scary but, after 4 auditions, lots of waiting, and hoping, I was cast as Lilly.

5. What is your favorite Hannah Montana episode? Why?
Ryan, age 12

Emily Osment: It's hard to say which one is my favorite, I love them all for different reasons. I think the episode that was the most fun to shoot, was Me, Mr. Jonas, Mr. Jonas, and Mr. Jonas. For one, the Jonas brothers are really cool guys and I loved making this episode with them. Next, dressing up like a guy and making a goofy voice, and of course the awesome dance number on the beach was so much fun. So, I would have to say this episode sort of stands out among the rest.

6. Did you ever have stage fright before performing? Or does confidence come naturally to you? I love acting, but sometimes I get all nervous and I stutter sometimes. I hate that! How do I get better?
Addy, age 12

Emily Osment: When I first started out I was really nervous before going on stage. But, after time, I just got used to it and now audiences just get me excited and give me energy. If you want to get better at performing just practice in front of your parents or maybe your trusted friends to get your nerves to settle.

7. Do you ever watch yourself on TV? How come?
Skylar, age 8

Emily Osment: I really don't actually. I only watch the ones that may have concerned me as to how well they worked.

8. I would like to know--if you weren't in the music/acting business where would you be? What would you want to do?
Melanie, age 12

Emily Osment: If I wasn't acting I would still be me going to a normal high school. It's hard to say what I would want to do. Most likely, I would be studying hard to get myself into a good college where I could decide. That's the place to find out what you want to be.

9. Is it hard for you to balance the acting and the popularity and all that stuff with school? How do you do it?
Emily, age 10

Emily Osment: It is hard to balance acting with my normal life, but I have great friends and family who keep me balanced with my independent study classes and just being a normal kid.

10. Do you ever wish you weren't a celebrity and just a regular girl? How come?
Alex, age 13

Emily Osment: I am a regular girl, and I love it. I have regular friends, I have school like everyone else and I have a regular family, I just have a really cool day job. The celebrity thing is just part of the job and I try to leave it at work so I can be that regular girl.
