1. How did you get be chosen for a part in High School Musical? —Amelia, age 10

Vanessa Hudgens: I simply auditioned, just like any other actor would. I went in sang, danced, and did a scene from the movie.

2. Before you starred in High School Musical, what was your life like?
—Hayley, age 10

Vanessa Hudgens: Kind of boring to tell the truth! I'd hang out, audition for some things here and there, singing class, acting class and all that jazz. My life has definitely spiced up recently.

3. What inspired you to become an actress and singer? How did you become those things?
—Victoria, age 11

Vanessa Hudgens: To tell you the truth ... I don't know! I started out doing musicals for fun and then started watching them as well. Once I saw the professionals do it, I fell in love and wanted to act, dance, and sing ever since.

4. What do you do when you are not working?
—Lexi, age 6

Vanessa Hudgens: I hang out! Go shopping, watch movies ... just things the normal teenager girl loves to do.

5. What is your favorite book?
—Tohru, age 13

6. What's your funniest memory of making High School Musical?
—Madison, age 10

Vanessa Hudgens: Probably me not being able to say my line correctly! It was a scene with me and Zac and I kept getting tongue twisted. We would crack up every single time I did the line.

7. Are any of your songs based on something that has happened to you or influenced you in your life?
—Ana, age 13

Vanessa Hudgens: Of course. All of them. Every single song I relate to and have had incidents in my songs that have happened to me in real life.

8. How does it feel to be in the spotlight and do you ever get tired of it?
—Samantha, age 11

Vanessa Hudgens: It's two faced. My fans come up to me and it's very fulfilling to know that they love what I do, as well as be able to be a role model for kids. But at times, I wish I was a normal teenager. I never went to a real high school, to prom, or a high school football game. I gave it all up for my career and it's going better than I could have wished. I made the right decision.

9. Who do you admire and why?
—Josselyn, age 10

Vanessa Hudgens: My parents. They gave up SO much for me and supported me every step of the way. Even when times were tough, they'd be there cheering me on.

10. Do you plan to make a High School Musical 2? If so, what can you tell us about it?
—Stefania, age 13

Vanessa Hudgens: HSM 2 will be shot next year. I haven't read the script yet but all I know is it takes place during summer vacation at Ryan and Sharpay's country club. I happen to be a life guard in it!
